In
The Demon's Head #112: The View From The TreeHouse
May
13, 2013
Hey
guys, It's Monday again. For most of us, that means back to work, back to
school, and back to an everyday routine. However, I've got something to
entertain you on this Monday, a new piece from my twisted brain. Now unlike the
last two weeks, this week will not be a trilogy. I'm not burnt out on the idea.
I do, however, want to continue to make pieces that can stand on their own.
With that I'm going to introduce three new pieces this week starting today.
Let's take a look at today's picture.
The
View From The TreeHouse
Looking
out,
I see the woods,
I see the woods,
I
see everything,
That
could be,
From
the outside in,
Mine,
I've
always been a loner,
And
I never understood people,
But
the view from my TreeHouse,
Makes
it all better,
No
one knows how the TreeHouse got here,
But
me,
It's
huge,
But
that's because he built it for me,
Only
a few years ago,
I
watched it go up overnight,
I
couldn't believe it,
But
I knew who did it,
At
first Mom didn't want me to touch it,
But
when I told her that Dad built it,
Her
face,
And
her will,
Broke
down,
You
see,
My
dad isn't here,
Not
anymore,
He
went off to war,
To
fight for freedom,
At
least that's what they tell me in school,
But
when he didn't come home,
I
began to worry,
Finally
one day,
Mom
told me that dad wasn't coming home,
He
had died,
Defending
me,
That
night I cried,
And
then I felt an arm around me,
I
looked up,
And
saw my dad,
With
his arms around me,
I
didn't understand at first,
But
I realized that he was there,
To
watch over me,
Mom
still cries on occasion,
When
she thinks about him,
I've
thought about telling her,
That
he's always with her,
Because
I see him,
But
I don't think she'll believe me,
So
until I see my dad again,
I'll
stay in my TreeHouse,
Protected,
By
a man,
Who
died for us all,
About
The Piece
When
I originally set down to write this, I expected some kind of dark feel. But I
thought I'd throw a curve ball and write something that was heartfelt and
different. Yeah, it has a paranormal style to it I suppose, but it works.
